Little Switzerland

Little Switzerland is a community just south of Spruce Pine.  As you may suspect from the name, the community has an alpine theme, including many alpine-theme inns.  If you are coming to see autumn colors or are touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, you may want to consider staying in Little Switzerland and driving into Spruce Pine (a 5-10 minute drive).

The Alpine Inn is an alpine-themed bed and breakfast in the Little Switzerland area.  Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a good choice for autumn viewing or for a scenic getaway near Spruce Pine.

Big Lynn Lodge has a variety of offerings for the visitor to the Blue Ridge Parkway area.  Rooms range from a standard motel-type room, to standalone or connected cottages, to condo-type fully furnished "suites".  Rates include breakfast and dinner (for 2, extra for more people) at the Lodge's well-regarded restaurant.

Known as "The Chalet" to long-time locals (which is still the name of the restaurant here), the Switzerland Inn is a miniature Swiss village, complete with restaurants, shops, and a lodge.  Rooms range from standard rooms, to private chalets, to the honeymoon cottage.  Great for a getaway, but make sure your budget matches.  Just off the Little Switzerland exit on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
